FAQ
Frequently asked questions about True Markets MCP.
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that allows AI assistants to connect to external data sources and tools. It acts as a bridge between your AI client (like Claude or ChatGPT) and services that provide real-time data.
Do I need an API key?
The Market Data server is fully public — no API key or login required. The Trading server requires an API key, which you can create and manage at truemarkets.co. The key is stored on your device. Trading operations also require OTP login via your True Markets account.
Which AI clients are supported?
Any MCP-compatible client works, including Claude (claude.ai, Desktop, and Code), ChatGPT, Cursor, and others. See our setup guides for specific instructions.
What chains are supported?
Currently Solana and Base. More chains may be added in the future.
How real-time is the data?
Price data is near real-time, typically within seconds of on-chain activity. Market summaries and asset summaries are AI-generated and updated throughout the day.
Is there a rate limit?
The server is designed for interactive AI assistant usage. There are reasonable rate limits in place to ensure fair access for all users. If you're building a high-frequency application, please contact us.
Can I execute trades through MCP?
Yes. The Trading server supports token swaps and transfers on Solana and Base. Log in with your True Markets account, and your AI assistant can prepare and execute trades. All transactions are signed locally — your private key never leaves your device.
Is my data private?
The Market Data server doesn't collect any personal data. See our privacy policy for more details.
